OUR PROCESS

We provide a warm, comprehensive, and tailored end-to-end service in which we will design, source and fit your kitchen and other spaces. With a huge amount of experience across a diverse range of project styles, sizes, budgets and locations our team will guide you from the initial concepts all the way through to the finished, fitted kitchen.

More than that, we will work closely with your wider project team such as your architect, builder, interior designer, project manager and trades, saving you huge amounts of time and ensuring that everything goes smoothly. And if you’ve yet to find any of these people, we have an extensive network of trusted contacts whom we can recommend.

Read on to discover how our process works, from the initial consultation to the final fitting and handover of your kitchen.

1. DISCOVERY CALL AND SHOWROOM VISIT

If you're interested in finding out a bit more about us, we suggest that you book a discovery call. This will allow you to tell us about your project and what you're looking for and for us to explain a bit more about who we are and how we might be able to help. If you like the sound of us, we'd then suggest a visit to our showroom, to meet us in person and see first hand what we can do.

We appreciate that budget is often a very important factor and we think it's really important that you have an idea how much one of our kitchens might cost you. We are happy to give you an estimate based on your architect's plans, a design by another supplier or even a hand-drawn plan!

To book a call, simply click on the button, drop us an email at hello@chisholmdesign.co.uk or give us a call on 01252 794826.

There's no fee or any expectation of any commitment at this stage.

2. CONSULTATION AND CONCEPT DESIGN

We start this stage with a consultation visit, which can be at our showroom or your existing house, whichever is more helpful. We will find out about your family, lifestyle, wants and needs and make sure we have all we need for a really clear design brief. We will then get to work, producing an initial set of designs, which we will subsequently refine with your feedback, producing two further iterations. The final version will include a quote for the cabinetry, as well as estimates for all other other elements (appliances, worktops, lighting, accessories, fitting etc), together with fully dimensioned plans and photo-like colour renders.

We charge a design fee for this service, which is £749 for a set of kitchen designs and £349 for each subsequent room.

3. DETAILED DESIGN AND ORDER

Once you have decided to engage us to supply your kitchen we will work with you to delve into the details. We will continue to work with you on the designs until we get every last detail right, advising on all the additional elements of a kitchen - lighting, appliances, worktops, handles, flooring and so on. We can then source everything for you from established, reputable suppliers. Equally there may be elements that you'd prefer to source yourselves - we can do as much, or as little as you'd prefer.
At this stage we will invoice you for a 50% deposit for the cabinetry, which will get the delivery booked in with the factory and a slot reserved on our fitting schedule.
4. PREPARE AND DELIVER

In the earlier parts of the process most of your contact will be with our design team, who'll be focusing on refining your design and confirming the detailed specification with you. But this starts to change as we get closer to the delivery and fitting. Our Operations Manager will liaise with you, your architect and build team to ensure the site is correctly prepared, all services are correctly positioned and that everything will be ready for fitting. At the same time, our procurement team will be making sure that everything from appliances to handles has been ordered and will be delivered on time.

5. FIT AND HANDOVER

This is the point at which months of hard work come together and the fitting finally starts! We will oversee the whole fit from start to finish, from briefing our fitter, checking on progress, coordinating and advising on worktop templating to fitting handles and appliances and touching up paintwork.

We will conduct a detailed end of fit inspection and make sure that any points identified are addressed, making sure that we only close the project once we're happy that you're delighted.

We charge a small site preparation and fitting management fee (normally 6-7% of the cabinetry cost) for our work during this and the preceding stage.
